Civil Engineer - Entry Level

We are seeking our next generation of Leaders to help us expand our transportation, construction, and water resources engineering teams. These positions will be based out of our headquarters in Miami, FL or our Fort Lauderdale office. What to Expect? Expect to perform a key role on civil infrastructure projects and the ability to work on a variety of related projects while coordinating with other staff members. It is important that this position can support project teams from initial planning through design to construction. This is an entry level position geared toward professional development, personal growth, increasing responsibility, and professional licensure. We will rotate you through our multidiscipline training program where you will be exposed to a great variety of projects to shape you into a well-rounded engineer. Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities Perform engineering calculations, translate governing standards to project specific tasks, utilize computer software for analysis and design, and work efficiently with other team members for project completion. Learn and perform overall roadway design which includes but not limited to the design of the road itself but also the design of signalized intersection, signing, pavement marking, drainage, pedestrian / vehicle safety and temporary traffic control plans. Assist in project activities such as site / field reconnaissance, permit applications, utility coordination, pavement designs, storm water management design, 3D computer modelling, and construction cost estimates. Qualifications A bachelor's degree in civil engineering Additional course work in transportation is desirable. EIT Certification is highly encouraged. 0 to 4 years of roadway project experience. Ability to define problems and determine solutions while meeting governing standards. CAD experience and/or willingness to learn MicroStation/OpenRoads Designer Connect Edition and AutoCAD/Civil3D. Working knowledge of AASHTO “Green Book,” MUTCD, and state specific roadway design manuals is desirable. Familiarity with 3D modeling or willingness to learn 3D modeling for roadway projects. Interest in experiencing a variety of assignments. Ability to work independently and as part of a team to develop and present concepts. Must be able to build effective relationships with team members and clients. Strong oral communication and critical thinking skills. Keen sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines. #J-18808-Ljbffr
