About the Opportunity As the Estimator, you will assist in the preparation and review of lump sum, unit rate, and cost‑plus estimates, as well as conceptual estimating cost analysis for projects such as water and wastewater treatment facilities, pipeline conveyance, heavy civil and structural projects, dams and hydro facilities, tunnel construction, waterway, and marine construction. Key Responsibilities Responsible for estimate coordination and consolidation of each discipline estimate into the Proposal Estimate Reviews design scopes and develops quantities Prepares complete and accurate cost estimates for scopes of work assigned Supports preparation of quantity takeoffs for estimates Performs productivity analysis of construction operations Prepares direct labor estimates, distributable or contractor indirect cost estimates Prepares contingency, escalation, and reconciliation for estimates Performs comparisons of scope, quantities, and cost data between projects Works with Engineers and support disciplines to ensure alignment across responsible scope Supports preparation of the Basis of Estimate and management presentations Supports the Lead Estimator in the review and presentation of estimate details to internal stakeholders Updates and maintains historical cost data and benchmarking Reviews designs and specifications for cost effectiveness and suggests alternatives where appropriate Supports continuous improvement efforts and the change management effects associated with the implementation of improvements Minimum Qualifications 5 to 10 years of relevant experience Preferred Skills BS or MS graduate in Construction Management or related field is preferred, but not required Field and/or project experience is a plus Commercial cost estimating experience including estimating facility enclosures and structures, architectural finishes, building mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and electrical systems) Complex estimating principles/procedures Cost principles/procedures Mathematical skills Project design scopes Consulting skills Analytical skills Interpret and understand specifications and contracts Microsoft Excel Verbal and written communication skills Presentation skills InEight Aspen Capital Cost Estimator Job Grade 015 #J-18808-Ljbffr Black & Veatch
