Pharmacy Manager

As a Pharmacy Manager, you will lead and develop a pharmacy team that provides exceptional patient care by promoting best practices and leading through change while identifying and addressing performance opportunities. You will support program awareness, onboard newly hired team members, and recognize colleagues for their success. You will consistently exhibit best practices when working the bench, including quarterbacking the team, providing patients with meaningful counseling, and abiding by all legal and regulatory guidelines. Responsibilities Live our purpose by managing and improving patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices. Oversee the pharmacy team during bench shifts and strengthen pharmacy performance measures through effective coaching. Ensure safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by directing the pharmacy team to follow workflow procedures and safety guardrails. Contribute to positive patient experiences by demonstrating compassionate care and coaching the team to do the same. Proactively offer and deliver immunizations and support pharmacy technicians in learning to immunize. Manage pharmacy inventory, focusing on cold chain protection. Conduct technician and pharmacist onboarding, ensuring timely completion of required training and licensure. Ensure operations are fully compliant with state Board of Pharmacy regulations and Escalate issues as needed. Partner with the Store Manager to maintain a talent pipeline of cross‑trained colleagues. Oversee Staff Pharmacists and District Support Pharmacists, manage performance, and deliver annual performance reviews. Maintain flexibility for scheduling while fostering a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic. Review business reporting, develop action plans to close gaps, and implement improvements. Establish a culture of safety, empowerment, and inclusion, promoting psychological safety. Maintain relevant clinical and technical skills, including required trainings and CMEs. Support access to care and improve patient outcomes through pharmacist‑delivered clinical care. Required Qualifications Active Pharmacist License in the state where the store is located. Active National Provider Identifier (NPI). Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list. 1–2 years of experience as a pharmacist. Essential Functions Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends. Complete required training within designated timeframe. Maintain attention and focus, pivot quickly between tasks. Confirm prescription information and label accuracy to ensure patient safety. Provide excellent customer service and active listening skills. Use math to solve dispensing problems. Resolve challenging interactions by selecting the best course of action. Physical Demands Remain mobile and upright for extended periods. Lift, scan, and bag items up to 20 lbs. Reach overhead, stretch, and use hands for repetitive tasks. Move fingers repetitively, type, and use devices. Stoop to a considerable degree, requiring full lower‑extremity use. Maintain visual acuity for reading and small‑part inspection. Team Management and Leadership Lead by example and set a positive tone. Delegate tasks, empower members, and foster collaboration. Motivate and inspire staff adherence to standards. Apply problem‑solving skills and innovate solutions. Adapt to changing circumstances and take ownership. Coach, reinforce, provide feedback, and discipline or terminate staff as needed. Preferred Qualifications Completion of the CVS Pharmacy Manager Emerging Leader (PM‑EL) program. 3–5 years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings. Ability to work in the home store and across the market to meet business needs. Pay Range $65.00 – $85.00 per hour (base rate or salary), based on experience, education, geography, and other factors. Eligible for bonus and incentive programs.
