Position Details $2,500 Sign On Bonus For External Candidates Primary Location: 5 Neponset Street, Worcester, MA 01606 Secondary Location: 24 Newton Street, Southborough, Massachusetts 01772 (travel as needed for coverage) Department: Infusion / Hematology / Oncology Specialties Schedule: Full time, 38.75 hours per week, Monday through Friday, scheduling between 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Primary Responsibilities Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, and consults with other specialists as required. Adjusts nursing care processes to ensure optimal patient care. Performs complete assessment and reassessment on all patients, including psychosocial, spiritual, emotional, and educational needs. Assesses and manages pain, providing appropriate management techniques and educating patients and caregivers. Prioritizes the plan of care using evidence‑based knowledge as patient assessments change. Demonstrates thorough knowledge of antineoplastic therapies and immunotherapies, including physical, psychological, and adverse effects. Calculates drug dosage and volume based on age, height, weight, and body surface area. Performs IV therapy, venous access, central line use and care, and handles antineoplastic agents safely. Follows regulations, policies, and guidelines for safe handling, administration, and disposal of antineoplastic agents. Performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as venipuncture, IV insertion, and vascular access maintenance. Observes the six medication rights and reduces potential medication errors. Identifies emergency situations and initiates appropriate nursing orders and interventions. Assesses patient and family learning needs, adapts teaching methods, and documents education experiences. Performs telephone triage and plans for appropriate intervention. Coordinates discharge plans, including education on treatment and schedule, and coordinates with community agencies. Quality and Safety Adheres to safety and quality control measures related to medication administration and infection control. Complies with established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives. Meets health and safety requirements and regulatory standards. Uses patient care equipment appropriately and safely. Consistently documents all aspects of patient care and education in the Electronic Medical Record. Reports pertinent information to the provider. Expectations Completes all organizational and departmental nursing education and competencies. Enhances professional growth through education programs and seminars. Attends staff meetings, conferences, and other required meetings. Performs other similar or related duties as directed. Maintains regular, reliable, and predictable attendance. Required Qualifications Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. Licensed RN in the State of Massachusetts. Current CPR/BLS Certification. Preferred Qualifications National Oncology Certification or attainment within an agreed timeframe. Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification. 1+ years of infusion/IV experience. Phone triage experience. Experience with EMR systems (EPIC). Excellent IV and phlebotomy skills. Benefits and Compensation Hourly pay range: $35.00 to $62.50 per hour based on full‑time employment.
