Minimum Qualifications - Graduation from an accredited medical school with a MD or DO degree, licensure with the state of Alabama as a MD or DO, board certification eligible in psychiatry and DEA registration.

Essential Functions - Assesses and treats students in need of psychiatric care. Works within the EHR, to include patient history, formulating and prescribing treatment and/or making outside referrals as needed. Provides input to establish short and long-term goals for the clinical operation of Student Health in the area of psychiatric care. Implements the development of policies, procedures, and programs that most effectively address the needs of students. Provides psychiatric care to the students of USA as needed on an appointment basis. Provides oversight of the Psychiatry Residents on their clinical days when applicable. Monitors effectiveness of schedule templates and clinical protocols. Assists in maintaining AAAHC accreditation. Regular and prompt attendance. Ability to work schedule as defined and additional hours as required. Related duties as required.
