Position Overview

OKSI is seeking a Sales/Solutions Engineer to bridge our engineering and Business Development teams. In this role, you'll bring deep technical fluency in OKSI's cutting-edge sensor technologies — including OKSI's passive EO/IR seeker and terminal guidance systems for precision-guided munitions and counter-UAS applications — directly into the sales process, translating customer requirements into winning technical solutions for the defense and government markets.

What You Will Do

Technical Sales & Demonstrations

• Serve as the primary technical resource for the Business Development team, translating OKSI's sensor and autonomous platform technologies into clear, customer-facing value propositions
• Design and deliver live product demonstrations, proofs of concept, and technical presentations for prospects and customers at OKSI, customer sites, and industry events

Proposal & Business Development Support

• Write and contribute to technical volumes of proposals, capability statements, and white papers
• Partner with Business Development Directors and customers to understand mission requirements and translate them into deliverable technical solutions

Cross-Functional & Market Engagement

• Collaborate with engineering and program teams to relay customer feedback, assess technical feasibility, and scope new opportunities
• Evaluate competitor products and emerging technologies to help position OKSI's solutions effectively

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or related field
• 3+ years of experience combining a technical/engineering background with customer-facing, sales engineering, or applications engineering experience
• Strong technical understanding of EO/IR sensor systems, autonomous platforms, and/or AI/ML-enabled sensing technologies
• Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with experience authoring technical proposal content
• Working knowledge of Department of Defense (DoD) requirements, acquisition processes, and government contracting
• Ability to obtain Department of Defense Secret clearance
• U.S. person status (export control requirement)
• Willingness and ability to travel as needed to customer sites, trade shows, and industry events

Preferred Qualifications

• Direct experience with EO/IR sensors, hyperspectral imaging, or AI/ML applied to sensor data
• Strong understanding of DoD innovation pathways (e.g., SBIR/STTR, OTAs, Tech Transition)
• Experience supporting proposal capture activities for government or defense programs
• ITAR/export-controlled environment experience

Logistics & Travel

• May travel up to 50% to tradeshows, demos, and industry events
• May work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as business needs dictate

Compensation & Benefits

• $100,000 - $135,000 annually. New hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary between the range minimum and the salary range midpoint depending on qualifications, internal equity, and the budget allocated for this role.
