You can expect to support multiple patients daily, depending on physician availability. This position is represented by the SEIU-UHW. Every day you will proactively prepare patient charts, assist with patients exams or procedure and relay physician instructions, administer physician-directed medication and perform accurate vital sign measurements, manage medical records (charts and EMR), communicate patient concerns to providers, and collaborate with physicians, insurance, and pharmacies for medication authorizations and refills. To be successful in this role, you must have an enthusiasm to help others and the ability to work efficiently and provide empathy for our patients.Provides excellent customer service.Demonstrates technical competence.Obtains pre-authorizations for procedures, imaging, tests, medications.Accurately submits RX requests to pharmacies within 30 minutes after obtaining a physicians written order.Proactively contributes to organizational excellence.Utilizes work time efficiently through proper time management.Required:High School Graduate General Studies or GED General StudiesSatisfactory completion of formal Medical Assistant program pursuant to the Division of Allied Health Professions or military training that is equivalent to an accredited Medical Assistant program (determination by DHMF HR department in conjunction with the State Division of Allied Health)Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hirePreferred:6 months experience in an outpatient setting as a Medical Assistant6 months experience in an outpatient setting as a Medical Office Receptionist or an equivalent amount of experience in a high-volume customer service role in another industry/environment working with referrals or scheduling surgeriesExperience in billingPrior call center experience preferredExperience with multi-line phones/ACD phones preferredPrior call center experience preferredDignity Health Medical Foundation, established in 1993, is a California nonprofit public benefit corporation with care centers throughout California.
