We're looking for people who'd rather build something real than talk about building it.As the Project Engineer you will own customer projects from first concept through full production, working across the organization to turn new opportunities into successful launches. This role covers the full lifecycle — quoting and costing, design review, manufacturing readiness, and production support — ensuring every solution is technically sound, cost-effective, and built to manufacture cleanly.You'll work closely with customers, Account Management, Engineering, Purchasing, and Production to solve technical problems, drive engineering changes, and keep projects hitting their milestones. Beyond project execution, you'll have real influence over product design, manufacturing methods, and continuous improvement across both new and existing products.Quoting & ProposalsPartner with customers and Account Management to define scope, clarify technical requirements, and build competitive, technically sound proposalsDevelop accurate, profitable quotations that account for materials, labor, tooling, and manufacturing constraintsReview customer designs and specs for manufacturability, completeness, and technical feasibilityProduct & Process DevelopmentBuild and maintain BOMs with Purchasing and cross-functional partnersDefine labor plans, process flows, tooling needs, and production methodsAnalyze production costs and assess the impact of design changes on cost, quality, and manufacturabilityLead NPI activities to move new products smoothly from development into productionDevelop testing and validation methods to confirm product quality and process capabilityEngineering Changes & DocumentationManage ECOs end-to-end — documentation, ERP updates, implementation, and cross-team communicationCreate and maintain clear work instructions, cut sheets, and manufacturing documentationMaintain accurate project records and ensure complete, on-time release packagesCross-Functional CollaborationPartner directly with Production to troubleshoot design, material, and process issuesProvide hands-on technical expertise — wire and component sizing, drawing review, spec validationWork with suppliers, Purchasing, and Operations on material needs, capabilities, and timingCommunicate proposals, recommendations, risks, and status clearly to customers and internal stakeholdersContinuous ImprovementDrive initiatives that improve quality, boost efficiency, cut cost, and strengthen manufacturing performanceDevelop production timing estimates and support planning, scheduling, and execution through launchRequirementsEducation & Experience:• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related field) preferred, or equivalent practical experience• 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment (wire harness, cable assembly, or electronics preferred)• Minimum 1 year of experience with CAD software• Experience working with ERP/MRP systems• Aerospace/defense/government contract experience is a plusOther Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and cost estimation• Knowledge of wire harnessing, cable assembly, and electronic/mechanical systems• Familiarity with quality systems such as ISO 9001• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)• Ability to interpret and validate engineering drawings and specifications• Working knowledge of production equipment and processesCore Competencies:• Results-Oriented: Effectively plans and executes projects to meet deadlines and objectives• Technical Aptitude: Applies engineering knowledge to solve practical manufacturing challenges• Attention to Detail: Ensures accuracy in designs, documentation, and data• Coordination: Integrates cross-functional efforts to achieve project goals efficiently• Initiative: Proactively identifies issues and implements solutions
