Educational Aide

PRIMARY PURPOSE

Assist the teacher in the preparation and management of classroom activities and administrative requirements. Work under the supervision of a certified teacher. Some data entry and secretarial duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Education/Certification High School diploma or GED Special Knowledge/Skills Ability to work well with children Knowledge of general office equipment Minimum Experience Some experience working with children

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Uphold and enforce school rules, administrative regulations, and state and local board policy. Assist in supervising students throughout the day that are assigned to the program or in areas as assigned by the teacher. Keep teacher informed of any special needs or problems arising from students placed in the program. Maintain a neat and orderly environment for the AEP/GCHS room. Inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment assigned to the AEP/GCHS room. Keep records and prepare reports as assigned. Distribute and collect instructional materials as provided by teacher. Participate in staff development training programs, faculty meetings, and special events, as needed. Ensure confidentiality of information. Secretarial duties as assigned by supervisor, and input/maintain PEIMS data for enrolling students at GCHS. Demonstrate behavior that is professional, ethical, responsible, and serve as a role model for all district staff. Perform all other related duties as assigned.
