Key Personnel is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) in Tulsa, OK

Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA)

Location: Tulsa, OK

Hours: Monday – Friday | Full-time clinic hours

Pay Range: $18-22/hr DOE

Type: Temp-to-Hire

Certified Medical Assistant Job Summary

Support a busy orthopedic surgery practice by coordinating patient scheduling, referrals, surgery appointments, testing, and insurance pre-authorizations while providing exceptional patient care and administrative support throughout the clinic.

Certified Medical Assistant Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Schedule patient appointments, referrals, surgeries, and diagnostic testing.

• Obtain insurance pre-authorizations for procedures and services.

• Triage phone calls regarding medications, wound care, and pre/post-operative questions.

• Maintain a professional and compassionate manner with patients both in person and over the phone.

• Scan and maintain electronic medical records (EMR).

• Enter office visit information and capture MIPS criteria.

• Process medical records release requests for workers’ compensation carriers, nurse case managers, and other authorized parties.

• Assist with FMLA, disability paperwork, and patient documentation needs.

• Support physicians in clinic with post-operative care, fracture management, and follow-up visits.

• Maintain clinic cleanliness and organization, including stocking rooms, monitoring inventory, sterilizing instruments in the autoclave, and managing biohazardous waste procedures.

Certified Medical Assistant Teamwork & Patient Care Responsibilities

• Interact professionally with physicians, staff, patients, and external healthcare partners.

• Work effectively as a collaborative team member on all assignments.

• Communicate and coordinate care with other employees and organizations as needed.

• Provide quality patient care while meeting deadlines and maintaining accuracy.

• Handle challenging post-fracture and post-operative patient concerns with professionalism and empathy.

Certified Medical Assistant Technical & Clinical Skills Required:

• Current CMA or RMA certification.

• Experience working with Electronic Medical Records (EMR).

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced orthopedic surgery environment.

Preferred:

• Orthopedic, surgical, or fracture-care experience.

• Familiarity with anatomy, fractures, orthopedic equipment, and post-operative care.

• Experience with insurance authorizations and medical records processing.

Certified Medical Assistant Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.

• Current CMA or RMA license/certification required.

• Stable work history with strong professional references.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment with shifting priorities.

• Strong customer service orientation and interpersonal skills.

Physical Requirements

• Arm and hand steadiness and finger dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard and telephone.

• Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.

• Ability to walk, stand, sit, and reach throughout the workday.

• Vision, speech, and hearing sufficient to perform essential job functions.

Dress Code: Coordinating scrubs will be provided by the client upon permanent hire.
