Regional Philanthropy Officer

Job Description The American Red Cross is seeking a Regional Philanthropy Officer – Individual Giving to support the Indiana Region. As a Regional Philanthropy Officer you will meet fundraising goals, grow and retain individual donors, and stem current and prospective regional donors to increase their support for the American Red Cross. Responsibilities Work with the local fundraising team to develop and execute ongoing regional strategy for qualifying donors, ensuring retention, growth of donor contributions, and recapture from previous donors; collaborate with other departments and fundraising staff to create customized solicitation strategies. Solicit assigned donor portfolios through face‑to‑face visits and virtual meetings, preparing personalized materials. Meet personal annual revenue targets with an assigned portfolio of donors and prospects. Implement a program to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward donors at $5,000 or higher, maximizing revenue for the American Red Cross. Maintain donor records within Salesforce. Assist donors in creating meaning in their lives by giving to the American Red Cross. Participate in disaster relief fundraising projects as appropriate. Work from home with occasional in‑person meetings at the local office. Pay Information Salary range: $77,000 – $83,000 per year plus yearly incentive. Salary may vary based on geographic location, skills, experience, and comparison to other employees in this role. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; minimum five years of sales and/or fundraising experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Proven experience developing strategies for donor retention, growth, and recapture, with demonstrated success on complex requests. A valid driver’s license and good driving record. Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Knowledge of MS Office and fundraising database systems (e.g., Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce.com). Ability to work on a team in a collaborative environment and provide high customer service orientation. Frequent travel within the Indiana Region required.
