Home/Life Services Inc. established in 1995, is a community-based, human services organization committed to improving the economic and social health of families impacted by homelessness. Operating from a client centered perspective, Home/Life provides a safe and therapeutic environment that supports the social and economic independence of its families served. By developing and implementing innovative services and programs within our Families with Children's facilities, we provide case management and job counseling, as well as help our families access the economic housing support that allows them to enter and stay in permanent housing.

Under the direction of the Social Services Director, The Residential Aide is responsible for the well-being and safety with clients and staff members. The RA provides crisis intervention as needed to maintain residential safety and security by developing meaningful and trusting relationships with clients. The Residential Aide assist in the coordination of client's access to support resources to aid in their independence necessary for reintegration into the community.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The responsibilities of the Residential Aide include but not limited to:

Programmatic Achievement:

• The RA ensures that program clients adhere to the program's policies and procedures.

• Build rapport with program clients and engage with them professionally and respectfully.

• Assists with escorting clients to support service appointments

• Assists Case Managers, Client Care Coordinators, Housing Specialists, Maintenance Director and the Director of Social Services

• Inspects rooms for cleanliness before clients enter the facility

• Assists with scanning client files and other essential documents into the Network Attached Storage (NAS)

• In the event of an emergency, Essential Personnel are required to report to work as scheduled.

• Always provide excellent customer service and confidentiality.

• When necessary, de-escalate tense, even hostile, client situations.

• Excellent internal and external customer service skills and strong interpersonal skills.

• Good verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate with all levels of management.

• Perform daily wellness checks of residents with a crib age child and or any active ACS/preventive services

• Signs residents in and out of the facility

• Responsible for answering the phone, relaying calls, and taking messages

• Responsible for mail distribution

• Assist with bag and tag clients' belongings when left behind or assist if client is physically handicapped

and requires assistance

• Stores and removes resident property from storage area

• Maintain client property along with documenting the inventory.

• Ensure the safety, security, and integrity of all residents and guests, as well as the facility's physical environment.

• Conduct periodic facility walk-throughs and wellness checks.

• Perform light custodial work consisting of cleaning tables, chairs, minor spills, and trash removal.

• Able to lift 20 lbs. with proper assistance and tools

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• High School diploma or equivalent required

• Experience with behavioral health services preferred

• Must be able to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing)

• Must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work as a part of a team

• Must be organized and technologically savvy

• Bilingual English/Spanish is also preferred
