CERTIFIED PHARMACY TECH - FTSUMMARY: Serve patients by preparing medications under the direct supervision of the Pharmacist. Support pharmacy services by stocking, assembling, and distributing medications. All duties are performed under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist.ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:Provide excellent customer service to all external (patients, families, etc.) and internal (co-workers, other departments, physicians, etc.) customers. Comply with all hospital policies and procedures. Participate in staff meetings as needed.Assist with biannual inventory and data entry. Update computer pricing of drugs to accurately reflect current prices. Assist in chart audits to ensure accurate pharmacy charges. Learn and assist with 340B program. This includes 340B split bill, contract pharmacy, and employee pharmacy.Demonstrate initiative and ownership in performance of duties and be a self- starter. Ability to adapt to changes. Function well under stressful conditions involving patients, family, other team members, and/or physicians. Assure proper documentation is maintained in all areas of involvement. Report medication errors and adverse drug reactions if necessary. Maintain pharmacy inventory. Organize medications for pharmacist to dispense. Fill medication carts and perform cart exchange at designated time, if needed. Perform monthly inspections and check for outdated medications hospital wide. Perform a perpetual inventory check in Pyxis to review accurate counts and expiration dates. Perform a monthly count and expiration date check of narcotics not accessed for 30 days or more with the assistance of pharmacist. Fill employee prescriptions accurately and mindfully..SHIFT: Monday - Friday 7:00a-3:30pQualifications: Must have an Illinois Pharmacy Technician license in good standing.
