Lola’s Taco Bar is a fast-paced, flavor-forward taco bar serving up bold street tacos, fresh margaritas, cold beer, and laid-back hospitality. Located in Grosse Pointe Woods, we bring people together over craveable food and good vibes. We’re looking for a hands-on, service-driven leader to help guide our team and keep operations running smoothly from open to close.
Position OverviewAs a Shift Lead , you’ll oversee both front-of-house and back-of-house operations during your shift. You’ll be responsible for leading the team, maintaining high service and food quality standards, and ensuring that the guest experience is consistently positive. This is a key leadership role for someone who’s comfortable jumping in wherever needed, solving problems on the fly, and keeping the energy high in both guest-facing and kitchen areas.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise all FOH and BOH activity during shifts
- Lead pre-shift meetings, assign roles, and ensure team readiness
- Provide hands-on support at the counter, expo, kitchen line, and dish station as needed
- Ensure food is prepped, cooked, and served to standard and on time
- Monitor alcohol service and compliance, including ID verification
- Oversee cleanliness, organization, and food safety in all areas
- Communicate inventory needs and shift issues to management
- Coach and support team members to maintain a positive and productive work environment
- Handle guest concerns quickly and professionally
- Lock up and complete end-of-shift reporting when closing
- Must be 17+ and eligible to serve alcohol in Michigan
- Previous experience in a supervisory or team lead role in a restaurant setting
- Strong understanding of both FOH and BOH operations
- Comfortable managing staff, guest service, and kitchen flow simultaneously
- ServSafe and Alcohol Server Certification (or willingness to obtain)
