Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 19:00 - 07:00 Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWOHHN Fetal Heart Rate Intermediate Must-Have: Experience with a fast-paced labor and delivery unit Experience with scrub role and circulating in the operating room Description: This position involves working in a high-acuity labor and delivery unit. The unit features 15 labor, delivery, and recovery rooms, as well as three operating rooms. Additional facilities include a four-bay post-anesthesia care unit and four antepartum rooms. The unit also houses a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Documentation is conducted using the Meditech and CPNS systems. Workers are expected to adhere to a floating policy within the women's and children's service line. Patient experience requirements include labor and delivery, circulating for cesarean sections, and managing IV drips such as magnesium. Advanced skills necessary for this role include performing procedures such as cesareans, epidurals, and spinals. Although blood patch procedures are rarely performed, familiarity with them may be beneficial. The hospital supplies scrubs for daily work attire.
