GWA is an independent, Pre-K-12, independent, college-preparatory school located on 62 beautiful acres in Monroe, Georgia, less than one hour from the state capitol of Atlanta. George Walton Academy currently seeks a dedicated and enthusiastic Prep Cook to join our team. The Prep Cook will be responsible for preparing ingredients using recipe guidelines while maintaining a clean and organized workspace, supporting the lead chef in execution and efficiency. The service and care for our community are of the upmost importance for this position ensuring a smooth operation daily. Key Responsibilities Ensure food quality, consistency and presentation in all foodservice areas during service of the GWA community. Responsible for all foodservice areas to include proper preparation, labeling, storage of all food and beverage items. Maintain health, safety and sanitation standards according to Health Department regulatory guidelines. Collaborate with the Food Service Director to ensure smooth service and satisfaction to our entire community base. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment to encourage teamwork and foster development. Engage with our community when appropriate to gather feedback and address opportunities. Required Skills and Qualifications Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced kitchen environment. Proficiency in a variety of cooking techniques and cuisines. Attendance and time management abilities are a must. Excellent organization, communication and the ability to multitask. Up to date knowledge of culinary trends, nutrition and dietary requirements.
