We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) with strong expertise in Java and Playwright . The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and robust automated testing frameworks. This role requires excellent programming skills, a quality-first mindset, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Exposure to functional testing is a plus to ensure comprehensive end-to-end application quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain test automation frameworks using Java and Playwright

• Create, execute, and maintain automated test scripts for web applications

• Perform functional testing to validate application features and ensure high-quality deliverables

• Collaborate with developers, QA, and product teams to understand requirements and define test strategies and test cases

• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing

• Identify, track, and report defects using standard defect management tools

• Analyze test execution results and provide actionable insights to improve software quality

• Ensure comprehensive test coverage across UI, API, and integration layers

• Optimize test execution processes to improve reliability and reduce runtime

• Participate in code reviews for test automation scripts and frameworks

• Work closely with cross-functional teams including Development, QA, and DevOps

• Actively participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies such as sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives

• Maintain and update documentation for test plans, test cases, and automation frameworks

• Stay up to date with the latest trends, tools, and best practices in test automation and quality engineering

Required Skills

• Strong programming skills in Java

• Hands-on experience with Playwright for automation testing

• Experience in building and maintaining automation frameworks

• Knowledge of web application testing and modern testing practices

• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps)

• Understanding of Agile methodologies Experience with defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Bugzilla)Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

The base compensation range for this role in the posted location is$70000 to $9376

Capgemini provides compensation range information in accordance with applicable national, state, provincial, and local pay transparency laws. The base compensation range listed for this position reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation Capgemini, in good faith, believes it may pay for the role at the time of this posting. This range may be subject to change as permitted by law.

The actual compensation offered to any candidate may fall outside of the posted range and will be determined based on multiple factors legally permitted in the applicable jurisdiction.

It is not typical for candidates to be hired at or near the top of the posted compensation range.

In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for additional compensation such as variable incentives, bonuses, or commissions, depending on the position and applicable laws.
