Qualifications
Education:
All descriptions have been reviewed to ensure that only essential functions and basic duties have been included. Requirements, skills, and abilities included have been determined to be the minimal standards required to successfully perform the positions. Additional functions and requirements may be assigned by supervisors as deemed appropriate.
Education:
- Some high school required.
- 3+ years in a janitorial role.
- N/A
- Must have a minimum one year of experience and/or training in custodial work.
- Must have knowledge of cleaning implements and use of hand tools.
- Demonstrated capabilities in interpersonal skills, memory, attention to detail, calculation, reading, evaluating, comprehension, and organizing.
- Must be able to communicate effectively.
- Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Must be able to work independently and be a team player.
- Adaptable to work assignments and possess the flexibility to adjust to changing priorities.
- Preferred general maintenance knowledge.
- Frequently required to perform repetitive movements, including:
- Standing, walking, and sitting
- Using hands and fingers to handle, feel, and operate tools or controls
- Reaching with hands and arms
- Climbing stairs and maintaining balance
- Stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
- Talking and hearing
- Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time.
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds, including:
- Cleaning products
- Tools and ladders
- Trash and facilities equipment
- Ability to safely operate equipment provided for job duties.
- May be exposed to indoor and outdoor hazards requiring adherence to:
- Basic safety precautions
- OSHA standards
- Bloodborne Pathogen protocols
- Work environment may involve exposure to:
- Unpleasant odors
- Bodily waste and spills
- Cleaning solutions and chemical cleaners
- Must pass Level II background checks
- Must pass the Bloodborne Pathogen Training
- Must use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as needed to perform specific tasks
