Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for adult Med Surg Tele patients, including ongoing assessment, monitoring, and documentation
- Administer medications per physician orders; manage IV therapy and IV pumps; monitor for adverse reactions
- Perform bladder scans, peripheral and central line blood draws, and glucose monitoring; assist with IV starts and other routine procedures
- Document accurately in EPIC; maintain current care plans and perform thorough shift handoffs
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team; respond to ED Hold admissions; float to other Tele units or ECC/ER as needed
- Adhere to patient safety, infection control, and unit protocols; adjust care based on patient acuity and unit policies
- Nurse-patient ratios on this unit generally run around 1:4 to 1:5 with adjustments as needed

Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in New York
- BLS certification required (AHA)
- NIHSS required prior to starting
- EPIC EMR experience within the past 2 years (nonnegotiable)
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience, with at least 1 year in Med Surg/Tele
- Ability to work in a Med Surg Tele setting and float to other Tele/ECC units as needed
- Reliable transportation required; public transit not available in the area; personal or rental vehicle with all-season or snow tires recommended November–April
