Senior Cybersecurity Engineer – Product Cyber Security (Onsite) Date Posted: 2026-04-02 | Location: Binghamton, NY Collins Aerospace is seeking a highly skilled Cybersecurity Engineer to support secure enterprise environments focusing on the Department of Defense (DoD). The role requires an active secret security clearance and involves designing, securing, and optimizing infrastructure for operational resilience and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities Design, develop, and implement technical solutions to ensure compliance with DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) security requirements. Architect, deploy, and optimize enterprise network solutions, enhancing performance, scalability, and security across existing and new infrastructure. Configure, build, deploy, and maintain Windows and Linux operating system environments in accordance with security and operational best practices. Support the Government Information System Security Manager (ISSM) in RMF accreditation efforts, including documentation development, control implementation, assessment coordination, and continuous monitoring activities. Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot firewalls, routers, and switches to ensure optimal network performance, segmentation, and security posture. Validate and verify hardware and software functionality through testing, diagnostics, and performance evaluation. Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including system configurations, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and operational workflows. Minimum Qualifications Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with 3 years of experience. Active and transferable U.S. government‑issued Secret security clearance. Proficiency with either Linux or Windows platforms. Experience with Active Directory, VMware, administration, backup and recovery. Preferred Qualifications DoD Directive 8140/8570 certification (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent) and an operating‑system certification. Experience with NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, DFARS and/or DoD/RMF processes. Experience with data storage technologies, including NAS and SAN solutions. Experience with VMware vCenter, vSphere, ESX, or other virtualization methods. Support experience with software, simulations, and hardware development for engineers.
