Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg Discipline: RN Start Date: 08/30/2026 Duration: 7 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse – ED / Med-Surg Position: ED/Med-Surg Registered Nurse Shift: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM | 12-Hour Nights Schedule: Nights Weekend Requirement: Every 3rd weekend Call: No call requirement Floating: Required between Emergency Department (ED) and Med-Surg Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:4 EMR: Cerner Job Description We are seeking an experienced ED/Med-Surg Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality patient care across both the Emergency Department and Medical-Surgical units. The RN must be comfortable transitioning between both care settings and managing a diverse adult patient population in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in both ED and Med-Surg settings. Assess patients, develop and implement individualized care plans, and evaluate outcomes. Monitor vital signs, cardiac status, labs, and changes in patient condition. Administer medications, IV therapies, and other treatments safely. Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and elevate concerns appropriately. Manage patients with varying levels of acuity in the ED and Med-Surg environment. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Cerner EMR . Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapy, ancillary services, and other members of the healthcare team. Maintain safe patient ratios and follow hospital policies and clinical standards. Float between the ED and Med-Surg unit as operational needs require.
