Step into a pivotal role as a full-time onsite Behavior Intervention Specialist for the 2025/2026 school year, serving schools in Blaine, MN and nearby communities. This contract position offers a valuable opportunity to work collaboratively with a dedicated team, including an additional BIS and Special Education Administrator. Your expertise will directly impact student success across multiple sites.

Key Qualifications:

• Licensed BCBA, School Social Worker, or Special Education Teacher (Tier 3 or 4 Minnesota Special Education Teaching License required for SpEd applicants)
• Demonstrated ability to consult and implement positive behavior interventions and supports
• Proficient in conducting functional behavior assessments
• Experience in reinforcing positive behaviors, de-escalation, and redirecting challenging behaviors
• Skilled in collaborating and maintaining a positive and safe work environment
• Comfortable training staff on behavioral intervention strategies
• Ability to utilize data to adapt interventions and guide programming decisions
• Flexible, adaptable, and composed under pressure; crisis response experience preferred
• Familiarity with compliance requirements regarding IEPs, district, and state procedures
• Willingness to travel between assigned school sites as needed

Primary Responsibilities:

• Consult with school teams to design and support individualized positive behavior intervention plans
• Perform behavior assessments and implement evidence-based strategies for student success
• Deliver trainings to staff regarding behavioral recommendations and interventions
• Support safety and well-being of all students and maintain a supportive learning environment
• Use data-driven approaches to adapt programming as needed
• Ensure alignment with board policies, handbooks, and legal standards
• Fulfill other duties as assigned by the Director of Special Education
