About the Position

Job Title: Pediatric OR Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Pediatric OR Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year of acute care experience is required. 6 months of Pediatric OR experience is required. License: Active state RN license is required. Certifications: ACLS BLS PALS Must-Have: Experience in pediatric surgery. Availability for call requirement including weekends and weekdays. Description: This position involves working in a Pediatric Operating Room. The shift covers three 12-hour days from 06:30 to 19:00. Candidates must have a minimum of 1 year of acute care experience and 6 months of Pediatric OR experience. Inpatient or ambulatory experience is accepted. Responsibilities include functioning as a break nurse approximately 20% of the time. Call requirements include two weekends plus 2-3 weekday overnight shifts per 6-week schedule. Average daily census is 25 patients. Patients include various demographics from neonates to adolescents. Procedures cover a wide range including ENT, Urology, Neuro, General, Ortho, and Trauma cases. Familiarity with Surginet charting system is preferred. Candidates must be capable of circulating in the Operating Room and adhering to Universal Protocol. Travel experience is required to apply for this position. Knowledge of specific surgical procedures such as appendectomy, craniotomy, and spinal fusion is advantageous. Must be agreeable to all outlined float and call requirements.
