Job Description

North 40 Outfitters in Spokane, WA (Trent Location),  is looking to hire a  Full-Time Sporting Goods Lead to join our team.  We believe that each team member plays a vital role in the success of our company.  We are looking for authentic and enthusiastic people who love our lifestyle and believe in service before self.  As a Sporting Goods Lead at North 40, you play a key role in the overall customer experience by providing outstanding customer service, generating sales and suggesting products, stocking and merchandising, maintaining a clean and organized department, leading and developing a successful team and safeguarding company assets.

This full-time position requires the ability to work all scheduled shifts between the business hours of Mon-Sat 7 am to 8 pm, and Sunday 9 am to 5 pm. This shift can include working weekends and certain holidays and will require flexibility in scheduling based on business needs.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of sporting goods products.
• General knowledge of customer service principles; displaying, promoting, and selling products; product knowledge; communication techniques to convey and obtain information, proper and business appropriate use of language.
• Reading comprehension to understand manufacturer’s information and writing accurately to complete documentation is required, as is knowledge of department merchandise, usage or application, competitive advantages, developments and trends and customer preferences.
• Excellent reliability and attendance, diligence and focus on producing results while on the clock, following directions, showing initiate, multi-tasking and prioritizing with considerable variety in the workplace, demonstrating courtesy and cooperation, attentiveness to others, maintaining confidentiality, showing enthusiasm.
• Excellent safety awareness and skill to lift and merchandise product on high shelves, top caps and end caps is essential.
• Gun counter may require security clearances and the ability to convey experiences for blog or other media purposes.
• Accurately communicate expectations, priorities, projects, or worklists.
• Ensure yourself and others are productive while on the clock and manage time to achieve goals and expectations.
• Observe associates, acknowledge achievements and good work, and make suggestions or give instruction for improvement.
• Lead by example and demonstrate standard procedure.
• Hold team accountable for results.
• Answer questions and help through new experiences.
• Properly staff department so that each customer is taken care of, and freight is processed in a timely manner.
