AllianceHealth Durant – RN (PCU Department) Registered Nurse full time in PCU Department provides patient‑centered care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The role coordinates and delivers high‑quality care based on established clinical protocols and physician orders, collaborates with physicians and nurses, and maintains a supportive and compassionate environment. Job Summary Registered Nurse responsible for coordinating and delivering high‑quality, patient‑centered care, conducting assessments, administering medications, participating in emergencies, documenting care, and engaging in professional development. Essential Functions Coordinate and deliver high‑quality patient‑centered care in accordance with policies and protocols. Conduct thorough patient assessments and accurately document findings, reporting changes to the care team. Utilize knowledge of human growth and development to provide age‑appropriate care and education. Administer prescribed medications, monitor for side effects, and document administration. Assist physicians during procedures within scope of competency. Collaborate with healthcare team to develop and evaluate individualized care plans. Respond to medical emergencies and participate in life‑saving interventions such as CPR and code team activities. Advocate for patients’ rights and needs, ensuring their voices are heard in care planning. Provide patient and family education on medical conditions, treatment plans, and post‑discharge care. Implement infection control protocols to prevent healthcare‑associated infections. Operate medical equipment (IV pumps, monitors, ventilators) as needed. Promote patient safety by adhering to National Patient Safety Goals and maintaining a clean environment. Participate in audits, chart reviews, and compliance checks to ensure adherence to standards. Demonstrate responsible decision‑making in planning, delegating, and providing care. Document patient care and education thoroughly and promptly. Engage in professional development to maintain clinical competency. Participate in performance improvement initiatives. Telemetry RN functions: use telemetry equipment, analyze data, provide direct patient care, recognize and respond to emergencies. Perform other duties as assigned. Maintain regular and reliable attendance. Comply with all policies and standards. Qualifications 0–2 years of experience in a clinical nursing role or student clinical rotations in an acute care setting. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Strong knowledge of the nursing process and clinical practices. Ability to perform thorough assessments and communicate findings effectively. Proficiency in medication administration and monitoring. Effective communication and interpersonal skills with interdisciplinary teams. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documentation. Knowledge of safety standards, infection control, and quality improvement initiatives. Licenses and Certifications RN – State or Compact State Licensure required. BCLS – Basic Life Support required. ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support preferred. PALS – Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred.NRP – Neonatal Resuscitation preferred. Refer to facility or unit‑specific guidelines for additional requirements.
