Full-Time Cook

Position Summary Full‑time; 6 am‑2 pm and 11 am‑7 pm. Responsible for preparing and serving the planned menu and maintaining quality standards in the dining services department. Responsibilities Prepare tasteful, nutritionally balanced meals based on pre‑planned menus. Prepare meals with consideration of resident preferences and food safety standards. Ensure pleasing plate presentation for all meals. Provide special diets, recognizing a resident’s right to choose. Complete dining room service, including setup, service, and cleanup with high hospitality standards. Assist with inventory and maintain supplies in all common area kitchenettes. Follow the sanitation schedule for kitchen, equipment, and dining room to maintain standard of sanitation and cleanliness. Participate in preparation for special events. Promote positive relationships with residents, staff and visitors. Perform any other duties as requested within the scope of responsibility and requirements of the job. Education and Experience High school diploma or GED required. Six months of experience cooking and baking from scratch in a commercial setting preferred. Other Requirements Ability to multi‑task, prioritize and work with minimal supervision. Effective oral and written communication skills. Professional telephone etiquette and customer service skills. Superior communication and interpersonal skills. Communicate in a respectful and professional manner with residents, families, co‑workers and leadership staff at the community. Developed organizational skills. Ability to problem‑solve and demonstrate good judgment. Team‑oriented self‑starter with demonstrated ability to accept direction and work well with supervisor. Promote teamwork by working with coworkers in a positive and cooperative manner. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
