Location: Edison, NJ
Industry: Wholesale Building Materials / Construction Materials
Pay: $30.00–$37.00 per hour
Job Type: Full-time, Direct Hire
Schedule: Flexible — 1st or 2nd Shift Available
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Industrial Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our manufacturing operation in Edison, NJ.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills and experience maintaining, repairing, and rebuilding industrial manufacturing equipment. Experience working with older or legacy industrial machinery is highly valued.
This is a hands-on maintenance role for someone who enjoys diagnosing equipment problems, making repairs, and keeping production equipment operating safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain industrial manufacturing equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues.
- Repair and rebuild bearings, shafts, gears, gearboxes, motors, belts, chains, and couplings.
- Troubleshoot basic PLC-controlled equipment.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and minimize production downtime.
- Identify recurring equipment issues and perform repairs to help improve equipment reliability.
- Follow all required safety procedures and maintenance practices.
Qualifications
- Hands-on experience maintaining industrial machinery and manufacturing equipment.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with hydraulics, bearings, shafts, gears, motors, and mechanical power transmission.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
- Experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment; experience with older/legacy PLC systems is a plus.
- Ability to work independently, troubleshoot problems effectively, and safely complete repairs.
- Strong understanding of industrial maintenance practices and equipment safety.
