Job Title

Registered Nurse (RN) – IMC/PCU/Stepdown

Location

Lincoln, NE | Progressive Care Unit (PCU/Stepdown)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 12-Hour Shifts | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 24-bed PCU/Stepdown unit serving patients with diagnoses including CHF, pneumonia, sepsis, stroke/TIA, COPD, PE, and AKI
• Serve as a primary care nurse on a designated stroke floor; demonstrate competency in stroke patient assessment and management
• Titrate drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Heparin, Nicardipine, and Dobutamine per protocol
• Monitor and interpret telemetry strips; unit utilizes a monitor tech and virtual nursing support on both day and night shifts
• Manage respiratory therapy equipment including high-flow oxygen, BiPap, and O2 titration
• Participate in self-scheduling, float assignments as first priority, and an expected additional shift per 6-week scheduling period

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in good standing
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Must successfully pass an open-book skills assessment during orientation with a minimum score of 90%
• Valid driver's license required at time of submittal
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Candidates may not be currently employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) at any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity Health
• Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments; compliance is required to maintain contract

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a PCU, stepdown, or intermediate care setting
• Demonstrated competency in caring for stroke and neurological patients
• Experience titrating vasoactive and cardiac drips in an acute care environment
• Strong teamwork orientation and ability to collaborate in a fast-paced unit environment
