• Pay Rate: $70.00-$75.00 / Hour (USD)
• Shift / Schedule: Night Shift (3x12 Hours), 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
• Travel Requirements: Not required (accepts first-time travelers)

Job Summary

This is a Surgical ICU (SICU) travel nursing position at a busy hospital specializing in trauma and transplant patients, requiring high-acuity care. The facility accepts contracts with lengths of 13, 20, or 26 weeks. The facility will accept a conditional MA license, with the understanding that the traveler is actively working through the full process to obtain a permanent license. Minimal RTO is needed, with a desired length of 3-5 days.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide care to Surgical ICU patients, including trauma and transplant patients, in a high-acuity environment.
• Maintain a patient ratio of 1:1-2.
• Utilize Epic for all charting and documentation.
• Float to other adult ICUs and stepdown units as needed.
• Fulfill weekend requirements on an every-other-weekend schedule.

Required Skills

• SICU experience (REQUIRED - candidates without SICU experience cannot be submitted)
• Ability to work in a high-acuity, busy hospital environment with trauma and transplant patients
• Proficiency with Epic charting system
• Ability to float to other adult ICUs and stepdown units as needed

Preferred Skills

• Previous travel nursing experience (facility accepts first-time travelers, but prior travel experience is a differentiator)
• Level I Trauma experience (candidates with previous travel AND Level I Trauma experience may be submitted for additional consideration)

Education Requirements

• MA RN License required (conditional MA license accepted if traveler is actively working through the full process to obtain a permanent license)
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• SICU experience required for submission

Nice-to-Have Experience

• Previous travel nursing experience
• Level I Trauma experience (combined with previous travel experience qualifies candidate for additional consideration)

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

• High-acuity Surgical ICU setting with trauma and transplant patient population
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
• Every-other-weekend requirement
• Float requirement to other adult ICUs and stepdown units as needed
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions and declinations allowed)
• COVID-19 vaccination: not required

Important Notes

• Traveler will be required to pass a pass/fail telemetry test at orientation; only 1 attempt is permitted. Failure results in contract consequences - candidates must be prepared.
