Job Title: Financial Controller

Location: Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin

Hybrid: 3 days onsite/week

Salary: $180,000-$200,000 + 20% Annual Bonus

As Financial Controller, you will influence the evolution of the finance function, support expansion through add-on acquisitions, and work closely with the executive team and sponsors. Responsibilities:

• Own and manage the full month-end close cycle, ensuring accuracy and timeliness across all entities and reporting periods.
• Prepare and deliver comprehensive financial reporting packages for leadership, private equity sponsors, and lenders.
• Lead consolidated financial reporting activities, including multi-entity consolidation, intercompany eliminations, and standardized charts of accounts.
• Maintain and enhance a robust system of internal controls and accounting policies to support audit readiness and protect company assets.
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP and all relevant tax and regulatory requirements.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
• Champion process improvements to drive efficiency, scale with business growth, and streamline reporting automation.
• Partner with IT to oversee financial systems and ERP strategies, supporting upgrades, implementations, or integrations.
• Provide actionable financial insights and collaborate with finance and operations leaders to drive business performance.
• Serve as the primary liaison for external audit, tax, and banking relationships, ensuring timely and accurate reporting and compliance.

Must-Have Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership in Controller or Assistant Controller role.
• Proven background in manufacturing or distribution industries.
• Extensive hands-on experience with month-end close and financial reporting in a multi-entity environment.
• In-depth knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls, audit readiness, and compliance practices.
• Strong cost accounting and inventory accounting expertise within manufacturing or distribution sectors.
• Experience managing and developing accounting teams at various seniority levels.
• Track record of process improvement and automation in fast-paced environments.
• Exceptional communication skills, able to present complex financial information concisely to executives, sponsors, and lenders.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• CPA credential is strongly preferred; MBA or CMA a plus.
• Experience operating in private equity-backed environments with exposure to sponsor reporting and expectations.
• Hands-on involvement in M&A transactions, including post-acquisition integration activities.
• Experience with ERP implementation or major system upgrades (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Infor).
