The Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound examinations, assisting radiologists, and maintaining ultrasound equipment to ensure accurate imaging. This role requires technical expertise and patient care skills to support diagnostic processes. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and position patients for ultrasound examinations following departmental protocols.
- Operate, adjust, and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring safety precautions are followed.
- Capture and transfer images onto PACS and ensure images are accessible to physicians.
- Assist in orienting and mentoring new ultrasound personnel.
- Schedule examinations, answer inquiries, and coordinate patient transportation when needed.
- Perform general equipment troubleshooting and maintenance to ensure optimal functionality.
- Registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
- Minimum of 2 years experience as an Ultrasound Technologist.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and administrative practices.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy and discretion.
- Associate's Degree in Diagnostic Medical Technology or equivalent with successful completion of an accredited Ultrasound/Sonography program.
- Current BLS certification.
