Senior Airworthiness & Regulatory Engineer Location: Everett, Washington. Overview The Regulatory Administration & Airworthiness team seeks a Senior Airworthiness & Regulatory Engineer to develop and advance certification and airworthiness systems. The role supports innovation and the development of efficient certification processes in an autonomous environment. Primary Responsibilities Define and communicate the vision, strategy, principles, and objectives for a future‑state certification and airworthiness ecosystem. Own and evolve the business architecture for certification systems, including capabilities, operational value streams, process models, and integrated data models. Apply model‑based methods to enable traceability from regulatory requirements and means of compliance through design, verification, substantiation, findings, and certification outcomes. Lead functional analysis of regulatory, certification, operational and business needs and translate them into architectural requirements and solution guidance. Provide oversight and validation of solution and capability roadmaps to ensure alignment with functional intent, enterprise standards, and digital‑transformation goals. Identify architectural gaps, integration needs, and certification‑system deficiencies, and recommend targeted improvement actions. Support governance, standards, methods, and conventions for cross‑functional integration, simplification, and reuse. Partner with IT and digital teams to ensure tools, workflows, and information solutions support airworthiness and regulatory compliance objectives. Collaborate with regulators, engineering, systems engineering, compliance, and enterprise architecture stakeholders on strategic initiatives and certification approaches. Coach and mentor teams on business architecture, model‑based practices, traceability, and certification‑system integration. Basic Qualifications (Required) 14+ years of related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor’s degree in engineering, engineering technology, computer science, data science, mathematics, physics, chemistry, or a non‑US equivalent directly related to the work. Experience developing, leading, and executing projects and utilizing project processes/skills. Ability to travel up to 10% of the time. Preferred Qualifications (Desired) Experience analyzing and presenting data. Experience in aircraft design and/or analysis. Experience implementing processes and standards compliant with airplane FAA certification standards. Experience developing and maintaining relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, and partners. Pay & Benefits Competitive base salary: $170,850 – $231,150, based on experience and market. Variable compensation opportunities.
