About the Company

We are an established flooring company serving both residential and commercial customers throughout the Chicagoland area. Our team manages a high volume of flooring projects, from residential installations to larger commercial jobs, and we are continuing to grow.

We are looking for a Field Project Manager who can keep projects organized from the time a job is scheduled through final completion. This person will spend the majority of their time in the field, working directly with installation crews, inspecting jobs, and making sure projects stay on track.

The Opportunity

This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys being out in the field and taking ownership of what happens on a jobsite. You will oversee multiple projects at different stages, coordinate crews, troubleshoot problems, and make sure the finished product meets both customer expectations and company standards.

The average project moves quickly, so the ability to prioritize, communicate clearly, and make decisions without waiting for someone else to step in is important.

What You’ll Own

• Oversee approximately 9 to 11 active flooring projects at various stages of completion
• Visit jobsites regularly to monitor progress, workmanship, and overall jobsite conditions
• Coordinate 2 to 5 person installation crews, including employees and 1099 installers
• Confirm jobs are properly prepared and crews have the materials, information, and direction needed to get started
• Keep projects moving according to schedule and communicate any potential delays
• Inspect completed work and coordinate corrections when something does not meet expectations
• Troubleshoot jobsite issues involving installation, materials, measurements, scheduling, or customer expectations
• Review project details and ensure crews are working from the correct scope and specifications
• Work closely with the office team to keep scheduling and project information aligned
• Help ensure a smooth handoff from installation through final completion
• Maintain strong relationships with installers, contractors, customers, and internal teams

What We’re Looking For

• 2 to 5+ years of experience in construction, flooring, installation, remodeling, field operations, or a similar environment
• Experience managing multiple jobs, crews, or projects at the same time
• Comfortable directing both employees and subcontractors
• Strong understanding of how projects move from scheduled work through completion
• Someone who naturally notices when something is wrong and takes action to fix it
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage changing priorities throughout the day
• Comfortable communicating with customers, crews, contractors, and office personnel
• Able to work independently and make sound decisions in the field
• Comfortable working in a high-volume environment where projects move quickly
• Commercial or residential construction experience is welcome; flooring experience is a plus
