JOB TITLE:

University of Wyoming Extension Summer Internship

JOB PURPOSE:

University of Wyoming Extension is offering part-time summer internship opportunities for individuals interested in working with Extension programs across the state.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support and promote UW Extension projects and events through event assistance, outreach, and general program support.

POSTION DETAILS:

• Pay: $15/hour
• Hours: Up to 19 hours per week
• Duration: 6 weeks (July 6th - August 16, 2026)
• Eligibility: Applicants must be 18 years of age or older
• Educational Award: $1,250 upon successful completion of the internship
• Interns are responsible for securing their own housing for the summer.
• Selected candidates must successfully complete a University of Wyoming background and motor vehicle check as a condition of employment.
• Interns also have the option to enroll in 1-4 academic credits through the University of Wyoming during the internship.
• Please note that interns are responsible for any associated tuition costs.

Locations & Focus Areas

Internship placements will be based on alignment between applicant interests and available opportunities.

Some counties offer blended experiences across multiple focus areas.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Valid driver''s license with a motor vehicle record (MVR) compliant with the Driving for University Business SAP and a willingness to drive to and from program locations and events

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Interest in exploring a career in Extension
• Experience working with youth and community members
• Highly dependable and organized
• Strong communication skills

This position provides vital support to Extension programming and must be available to work at a selected UW Extension Office assigned to the internship.
