Nurse Practitioner

WK Quick Care is seeking a dedicated and experienced Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner to join our dynamic healthcare team in Shreveport-Bossier. This role involves providing high-quality, patient-centered care while effectively managing diverse urgent medical conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct thorough assessments and physical examinations of patients of all ages presenting with urgent medical needs.

• Diagnose and treat a variety of acute medical conditions, injuries, and illnesses.
• Perform diagnostic tests and interpret results to guide treatment plans.
• Provide patient education on health maintenance and preventive care.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Maintain accurate medical records in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
• Flexibility working at various locations and adjusting schedules as needed.
• Works in conjunction with the medical director, administrative management, nursing and other interprofessional team members to facilitate patient care and management throughout the health care system.
• Exercises independent judgment in the assessment, diagnosis and initiation of medical processes and procedures commensurate with training and experience, as credentialed by WKH.
• Performs and documents comprehensive health histories and physical assessments, to include initiation of CPR or other appropriate emergency therapy as needed.
• Formulates diagnoses, identifies problems and health risk profiles, documents and clearly communicates with other members of the health care team.
• Performs, orders, and interprets diagnostic studies, such as x-rays and laboratory tests, in consultation with peers and colleagues.
• Performs procedures within scope of practice and WKH credentialing and privileges.
• Orders medications, treatments and therapies in accordance with state regulations

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Education: Graduate of an accredited graduate school of nursing or physician assistant program with a master's degree.
• Experience: At least one year
• Licensure: License or license eligible as an Advance Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner) as set forth by the state of Louisiana. Must demonstrate and maintain all credentialing and licensing requirements of WKH and appropriate certifying bodies. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Current PALS/NRP, as required, specific to position. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) as required, specific to position.
