IT Quality Assurance Specialist

Our client has an immediate need for two IT Quality Assurance Specialists to support enterprise data streaming platforms within the EDS (Enterprise Data as a Service) group. This role focuses heavily on Kafka, API testing, and validating data across Oracle, MongoDB, and other distributed systems. Candidates must be open to full-time conversion (no sponsorship available).

Responsibilities

• Perform Kafka message testing (JSON, Avro, Kafka)
• Validate data across Oracle, MongoDB, and other sources via SQL queries
• Design and execute test plans for Kafka, APIs, and streaming services
• Test APIs using Postman, Swagger, and automation tools (Cucumber/Karate or similar)
• Verify serialization/deserialization, data integrity, and message processing
• Support CI/CD, Git workflows, and Agile ceremonies
• Conduct manual and automated API testing
• Participate in monthly weekend/night release (one per month)

Requirements

Must-Have Skills

• Kafka testing expertise
• API testing with Postman & Swagger
• JSON / Avro / Kafka message validation
• SQL (strong), Oracle, MongoDB
• Automation testing (Cucumber/Karate or similar)
• Git, X-ray, Jira/Confluence
• Strong understanding of API testing methodologies
• Experience in Agile environments

Nice-to-Have

• SOAP API experience

Soft Skills

• Strong problem-solving
• Ability to work independently
• Solid interpersonal and communication skills

Education

• Bachelor's preferred (experience accepted in lieu)
