College Cook- College Campus Dining Services

Location: Rapid City, SD

Pay: $20-$22/hour

Hours: Various Shifts Available

We are seeking a dependable and experienced Cook to join our campus dining team! The ideal candidate will have previous food service, restaurant, cafeteria, or commercial kitchen experience and be passionate about preparing quality meals for students, faculty, staff, and campus guests. This position plays a key role in maintaining food quality, safety, and excellent customer service in a fast-paced dining environment.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook a variety of menu items according to standardized recipes and production schedules.
• Ensure food is prepared, portioned, and presented to campus dining standards.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely, including ovens, grills, fryers, and steamers.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area following sanitation and food safety regulations.
• Monitor food quality, freshness, and inventory levels throughout each shift.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1 year of food service, restaurant, cafeteria, or commercial cooking experience required.
• Knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen equipment, and safe food handling practices.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rapid City, SD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $22.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
