Sr. Financial Analyst - Tysons, VA

Travel: Regular travel between the Tysons Headquarters and the Frederick, MD site is required. Responsibilities This position will report to the project site 100% of the time. We are expanding our finance team to support multi-million, multi-year large-scale construction projects. The successful candidate will perform the following activities daily/periodically: Project Cost Control: Engage with the project management team to develop accurate budgets and manpower forecasts for multi-year construction projects. Monitor and control indirect costs by performing budget-to-actual analysis on a weekly basis; identify and eliminate root causes for variances. Establish accurate cash flow forecasts to ensure the project remains cash-positive; monitor monthly and adjust forecasts as needed. Ensure accurate and timely complex multi-million cost-plus billing submissions on a monthly basis. Project Procurement Planning: Lead procurement planning for the project with the project management team; ensure compliance and logistics are included in the plan. Assist in procuring the job according to plan before 20% completion. Perform monthly analysis of actual bought vs plan; provide justification prior to adjusting the plan. Work Breakdown Structure: Assist with establishing WBS at the time of award and maintain WBS responsibilities at the project level. Maintain WBS throughout the project duration. Project Controls: Assist monthly financial forms with cost analysis and variance explanations. Support monthly financial form preparation for management review. Provide acceptable justification for all variances (fades/gains). Qualifications The incumbent must have five years of related experience. Knowledge of general accounting principles. Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Attention to detail in completing work tasks. Ability to work independently and manage own deadlines. Strong organization, communication, and analytical skills. Use of accounting principles to solve problems. Education Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, or related field with 5+ years of experience. Desired Qualities Self-starter; ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects. Ability to work independently and ask questions as needed. Eagerness to learn and advance career within the company. Location/Travel Full-time on-site position (in Tysons, VA). Occasional travel to other project sites.
