Job Summary:
The Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) nurse position is located in Lancaster, Ohio. This role involves assessing, monitoring, and providing exceptional patient care for individuals recovering from anesthesia. The PACU nurse will be responsible for implementing care plans, managing patient safety, and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure smooth recovery processes. This position requires a dedicated professional committed to delivering high-quality, compassionate care.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 8-hour shifts, minimum of 40 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Completion of an accredited nursing program resulting in a diploma in nursing, associate degree in nursing (ADN), or bachelors degree in nursing (BSN); valid license to practice in the State of Ohio; CPR certification; 0 or more years of nursing experience
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) or similar setting preferred
• Essential Job Functions:
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care based on patient needs and established care pathways
  • Provide thorough education to patients and families from admission through discharge
  • Document all nursing activities accurately and legibly
  • Notify physicians about patient status changes and pertinent observations
  • Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
  • Ensure all equipment and supplies are available and report malfunctions as needed
• Additional Information:
  • The position involves physical activity including frequent patient handling and heavy lifting
  • The role requires emotional regulation and the ability to manage urgent situations calmly
  • Supervision of nursing assistants and direct care responsibilities are integral to the role
