About the Company Warner Bros. Job Overview The Combat Designer will be responsible for significant contributions to game design, with a focus on combat, moment-to-moment gameplay, and character implementation. Responsibilities Implement and maintain combat-centric systems, game balance, and character tuning. Establish and maintain design documentation for player character combat and enemies. Design, implement, and iterate on in-game character actions, including attacks, reactions, and navigation. Collaborate with art teams to define visual elements associated with combat. Build gameplay functions and scripted encounters to support combat efforts. Build AI logic and behaviors for enemies and NPCs. Qualifications 4+ years of game design experience. Shipped at least one title with a strong emphasis on combat design and implementation. Direct experience implementing combat mechanics, preferably melee-based, on a shipped title. Strong programming or scripting knowledge and experience. B.A. degree preferred or equivalent professional experience. Ability to work well under pressure and with deadlines. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Passion for action and fighting games with a focus on combat mechanics. Positive attitude and a collaborative problem-solving approach. Compensation Pay Range: $47,600 – $88,400 per year. Additional rewards may include annual bonuses, incentives, and awards.
