About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Neuro Intermediate Care Unit Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Hours (18:45 - 07:15) Experience: Minimum 2 Years of Experience with Neuro experience preferred License: Current state license required Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIH Must-Have: Must have a teamwork approach and meet behavioral expectations in all interactions with patients and staff. Must be able to adhere to the call-off policy. Description: RTO after booking is not allowed and is not allowed to be worked out onsite. Any call-offs or additional RTO on the unit could possibly turn into a cancel and DNR. Required skills include telemetry, vents, IV start, and drips. Traveler experience is accepted for first-time travelers. Locals are accepted with a rate difference. Patient ratios are typically 1:4 with an average daily census maxing out at 24 patients. The unit serves an intermediate population that is sub-specialized with neurological and medical intermediate patients. Floating is required to other intermediate areas along with critical care. Weekend requirement is three weekends every six weeks, totaling six weekend shifts between Saturday and Sunday. Special procedures involve caring for neurological patients alongside medical intermediate patients. Unit systems include electronic medication management and electronic medical record systems. Candidates must pass EKG testing prior to starting in this specialty. The unit emphasizes a teamwork approach and adherence to behavioral expectations in interactions with patients and staff. All additional RTO must be pre-approved and cannot be requested after signing. Candidates must be open to floating within/near the facility as per job description. Must have the ability to titrate medications as required. Candidates should be prepared to complete additional required modules pre-start and annually.
