About the Division:
Since 1989, TTUHSC Managed Care has served as a healthcare delivery service, providing high quality, low cost healthcare to patients within the Texas Department of Criminal Justice system. We provide medical, mental health, and dental services to patients in 22 facilities throughout West Texas. Managed Care emphasizes our values-based culture in all we do.


Visa Information

TTUHSC, at its sole discretion, may initiate new H-1B I-129 visa petitions in accordance with the directive issued by Governor Abbott. Approval from the Texas Workforce Commission is required. On a limited, case-by-case basis, the institution may also sponsor eligible individuals for change-of-status or change-of-employer petitions for qualifying positions. TTUHSC will not pay the $100,000 fee, if applicable.

We provide medical, mental health, and dental services to patients in 22 facilities across West Texas with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. Our Values-Based Culture guides us in everything we do, ensuring patient-centered care in a supportive and collaborative environment.

As a Registered Nurse , you will be an essential part of our healthcare team, delivering direct patient care, assisting with treatment plans, and ensuring the well-being of those you serve. Your responsibilities will include administering medications, performing health assessments, and contributing to a dynamic and purpose-driven workplace.

Major/Essential Functions

• Communicates patient data using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) to support decision-making to improve patient care.
• Assists with or performs exams and procedures and documents intervention in EMR.
• Prepares and operates necessary equipment and instruments for examinations, treatments, and procedures.
• Complies with TDCJ (Texas Department of Criminal Justice) and TTUHSC (Texas Tech University Health Science Center) policy and procedures including all necessary paperwork.
• Safety and Security-provides an environment conductive to safety and security for patients, visitors and employees. Assesses risk to patient and staff and takes appropriate precaution.
• Administer or assist with administration or documentation of medications.
• Other duties deemed appropriate by supervisor.

Required Qualifications

Current RN License in the State of Texas, or ability to transfer license to Texas, or scheduled to complete a program of nursing within 120 days of applying for a position. Graduated from an approved accredited nursing program. New graduates must pass the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX- RN) on the first attempt. No experience required.
