As a member of our team, you'll perform advanced cardiovascular imaging across ambulatory and inpatient settings.JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESPerform a variety of echocardiographic procedures, including 2D, 3D, Doppler, Transesophageal Echocardiograms (TEE), Stress Echos, and strain imaging in both routine and emergency settings.Deliver services across ambulatory clinics, inpatient floors, ICU, and procedural areas.Evaluate pathology following current ASE, ACC, and lab-specific guidelines.Analyze patient medical records to obtain history and inform tailored imaging.Operate and maintain advanced ultrasound equipment, report malfunctions, and perform preventive maintenance.Prepare preliminary reports and compare with previous studies to assist interpretation by cardiologists.Participate in quality improvement activities and IAC-Echo reaccreditation processes.Educate and mentor students, nurses, fellows, and new staff as needed.Attend required staff meetings and pursue ongoing professional development and continuing education.JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTSEducationGraduate or completion of program that meets eligibility requirements for registry/certification or currently holds required registry or certification.ExperienceLevel I: Experience working as a Cardiac Sonographer required.Level II: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Cardiac Sonographer.Level III: Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Cardiac Sonographer.Licensure and CertificationARDMS or CCI certification in Adult Echocardiography.BLS certification (required).WHY DUKE?Work in a leading academic medical center with access to cutting-edge cardiovascular procedures and technology.Engage in meaningful care for high-acuity patients including transplants, congenital, and mechanical circulatory support.Advance your career through our clinical ladder, research opportunities, and leadership development.Join a collaborative team that values continuous learning, safety, and innovation.Duke is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to providing employment opportunity without regard to an individual's age, color, disability, gender, gender expression, gender identity, genetic information, national origin, race, religion, sex (including pregnancy), sexual orientation or military status.We believe a diverse, inclusive community strengthens our mission and enriches patient care.
