An IDA International Dark Sky community is a town, city, municipality, or other legally organized community that has shown exceptional dedication to the preservation of the night sky through the implementation and enforcement of a quality outdoor lighting ordinance, dark sky education, and citizen support of dark skies. Camp Verde is the fifth dark sky community in Arizona, and the 20th designated dark sky community in the world. Wonderfully enough, designated first in the world dark sky community is Flagstaff which is only one hour away from the Camp Verde area. About the Facility The Yavapai Apache Medical Center

The Yavapai-Apache Nation Medical Center is located in the Middle Verde tribal community. The medical center provides healthcare services that include primary medical care, behavioral health, dental, vision, and support services. All services provided through the Medical Center are by appointment only. The Yavapai-Apache Nation is located in the Verde Valley of Arizona and is comprised of five (5) tribal communities: Tunlii, Middle Verde, Rimrock, Camp Verde and Clarkdale. Responsibilities

• To provide chairside assistance during oral examinations and restorative treatments.
• Passes instruments and materials to/from dentist.
• Operates oral evacuator and suction tip to keep area of operation clear.
• Retracts tissue, check and tongue.
• Operates x-ray equipment to make intra-oral x-rays such as periapical and bite-wing exposures.
• Receives and prepares patients for treatment.
• Lays out instruments and materials needed for treatment.
• Properly stores and maintains adequate supplies in dental station; prepares sterile trays, packs, sutures, etc.
• Assist and perform services/duties as may be requested for normal operational requirements of department and personnel, which may include moderate lifting and moving of furniture, equipment, and boxes of office supplies

Requirements

• Current state/national certification or a diploma from an accredited dental assisting program, or at least 1 year of on the job training.
• Radiology certification from either Dental Assisting National Board or a State Board Radiology Certificate issued by any American state, the District of Columbus, or Puerto Rico.

Terms

Base term of one year, and four one-year option periods. Hours of the facility are Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm.
