Digital Assets Product Manager-Lead

Summary

The Digital Assets Product Manager is our resident expert in all things crypto and on-chain digital assets, and is responsible for supporting strategy, contributing to roadmap execution, optimizing performance, and driving cross-functional delivery of Sunward Federal Credit Union's on-chain, cryptocurrency and digital asset solutions. This role provides senior-level product leadership and serves as a strategic partner to Payments, Digital, Marketing, Deposits, Risk Management, Compliance, Finance, Retail and Contact Center teams to educate, measure, and deliver solutions for Sunward. This position contributes to the performance narrative for assigned platforms and carries direct accountability for contributing to Sunward's strategies for digital and on-chain assets and related experiences.

Essential Functions:

• Platform Strategy and Execution: Drive the product strategy and roadmap execution for digital asset platforms, connecting next generation banking capabilities to real use cases that support Sunward and our members.
• Marketing, Business Result Owner, & Product Partnership : Serve as the senior digital assets/on-chain platform liaison with Marketing, business results owners, and Product teams, ensuring alignment, advocating for platform investments that support growth targets, and translating marketing strategy into product requirements and outcomes.
• Application Experience Leadership: Drive the end-to-end digital asset and on-chain experiences for assigned platforms, supporting design, compliance, and completion optimization across retail membership, consumer lending, and deposit flows.
• Risk & Decisioning Strategy: Partner strategically with risk, fraud, and decisioning teams to optimize the balance between digital asset and on-chain capabilities and fraud risk controls within their platforms
• Cross-functional Leadership: Drive cross-functional delivery across Technology, Marketing, Lending, Retail, Risk, and vendor partners, aligning teams on priorities and driving high-quality platform releases.
• Market Research & Competitive Intelligence: conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify acquisition growth opportunities, benchmark Sunward's digital asset and on-chain solutions performance, and inform platform investment decisions.
• Agile Delivery Excellence: Support agile delivery for assigned platforms, continuously improving sprint execution, backlog health, release quality, and delivery velocity.
• Performance Ownership: Define, track, and report on a comprehensive set of growth KPIs— using performance data to drive continuous improvement.
• Mentorship: Mentor Associate and Specialist Digital Product Managers (Growth), sharing expertise in funnel optimization, experimentation, and data-driven product management.
• AI-Driven Growth Optimization: Drive the design and execution of AI-assisted experiments, personalization strategies, and predictive optimization initiatives across digital asset and on-chain platforms and solutions, advancing Sunward's capability to use machine intelligence to improve growth outcomes at scale.

Qualifications

Experience

• Minimum 6 years of experience in on-chain digital asset, cryptocurrency, product management, growth product management, or a closely related field. Experience in financial services, fintech, or credit unions preferred.

Education

• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, a STEAM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, or Mathematics), Marketing, or a related field or, relevant work experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree.

Knowledge

• Advanced knowledge of on-chain digital assets, cryptocurrency, stable coins, and other related solutions.
• Strong command of A/B testing, multivariate experimentation, and AI-assisted personalization and optimization methodologies.
• Strong working knowledge of AI and machine learning applications.
• Solid understanding of agile methodologies and best practices for high-velocity product delivery.
• Strong UX/UI knowledge with specific fluency in how design decisions affect conversion and digital asset adoption rates.
• Solid knowledge of risk management, fraud, and identity decisioning systems as they apply to on-chain digital assets and cryptocurrency.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards relevant to on-chain digital assets, stablecoin, and cryptocurrency.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

• Primarily works in an office or hybrid remote (home office) environment with standard office equipment.
• Requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time while working at a computer.
• Regular use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multiple monitors for extended durations.
• Frequent verbal and written communication via phone, video conferencing, and collaboration tools.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documentation, diagrams, dashboards, and reports.
• Occasional standing, walking, bending, or reaching may be required.
• May require occasional lifting or moving of equipment or materials up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to maintain focus and productivity while responding to time-sensitive or high-priority incidents.
• May be required to participate in on-call rotation or work outside of standard business hours as needed to support critical systems.
• May require occasional travel to branch locations or other facilities for on-site troubleshooting and system support, as well as travel for meetings, training, or vendor engagements.
