Research Technician-Magness

Position Summary A laboratory in the Center for Gastrointestinal Biology and Disease is seeking a lab manager and technician. The research focuses on intestinal stem cells, gastrointestinal cancers, and biomedical engineering/translational approaches to improve human health. Responsibilities Overall administration of lab organization and maintenance. Perform experimental techniques directed by graduate students, post‑doctoral fellows, and the Principal Investigator, including mouse colony management, genotyping, DNA/RNA/protein analysis by PCR/qPCR/western blotting, plasmid vector design/recombinant DNA engineering, gene expression by Taqman assays, tissue culture, and flow cytometry/FACS. Prepare solutions and undertake other standard laboratory practices. Order supplies and reagents, maintain databases, and oversee laboratory space upkeep. Maintain animal/environmental health and safety protocols, and communicate directly with the Principal Investigator and other laboratory personnel. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work. Management Preferences CRISPR gene editing experience.
