Emergency Veterinarian - Premier Veterinary Group, Mundelein, IL Premier Veterinary Group located in Mundelein, Illinois is adding an experienced Emergency Veterinarian to its team. This role focuses on animal emergency and urgent care with flexible work schedules. About the Team A team of experienced emergency veterinarians with a positive, collaborative culture. Fully staffed support team. Continuous learning opportunities, including RECOVER certification. Primary canine and feline caseload, with exotics as needed. Location: one hour north of Chicago and one hour south of Milwaukee. Key Information 5 full‑time emergency veterinarians and a full‑time surgeon. 3:1 technician/doctor ratio plus reception staff. 10,000 square‑foot, brand‑new hospital space. Three‑day work week: only 12 shifts per month. Compensation and Benefits Competitive salaries starting at $165,000+ (based on experience). Sign‑on bonus for full‑time positions. Relocation support available for full‑time roles. Pro‑Sal compensation structure. What We’re Looking For Experience At least 2 years of emergency experience or completion of an internship. Skillset Clinical expertise in stabilizing and treating urgent and emergent cases (GDV, respiratory distress, polytrauma, acute neuro events). Strong procedural skills: POCUS, wound/laceration repair, NG tube placement, CPR. Diagnostic judgment interpreting radiographs, lab work, and ECGs in real time. Comfortable triaging caseloads, making swift decisions, and guiding support staff. Collaborative approach with specialists and technicians to ensure seamless patient care and client communication. Mentorship mindset: supporting externs and ER technicians through modeling and teaching. Client communication skills: empathetic, clear, and confident. Shift Availability Full‑time: overnight only or combination of overnight and swing shift options. Per diem: day/swing/overnight; weekday and weekend shifts available as needed.
