Position Summary:


Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist Specialist I to join a dynamic radiology team at our partner medical facility in Pittsfield, MA . This full-time, evening-shift role (Monday-Friday, 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM) requires a technologist capable of performing a broad range of imaging procedures with autonomy and technical expertise. The ideal candidate is initiative-driven, adaptable to fast-paced clinical settings, and collaborates effectively with medical, administrative, and peer staff. This position is vital in providing imaging services that contribute to accurate diagnoses while ensuring the comfort and safety of all patients.


Key Responsibilities:

• Perform diagnostic Computed Tomography (CT) and general X-ray examinations according to established protocols and physician orders.
• Operate and maintain CT and X-ray equipment, ensuring optimal performance and image quality.
• Adhere strictly to all radiation safety protocols (ALARA principles) and infection control practices.
• Demonstrate proficiency in using PACS, RIS, HIS, and CR/DR systems for image management, patient information, and workflow.
• Prepare patients for procedures, explain processes clearly, obtain relevant clinical history, and ensure patient safety and comfort.
• Critically evaluate images for diagnostic quality, positioning, and technical accuracy.
• Administer contrast media as required, monitoring patients for any adverse reactions.
• Maintain accurate patient records and procedural documentation.
• May be tasked with mentoring peers or assisting with supervisory duties as needed, fostering a collaborative team environment.
• Participate in departmental quality assurance and performance improvement activities.

Required Qualifications:

• Education: Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology Program.
• Licensure: Current and valid Massachusetts Radiography License .
• Certifications:
  • Current registration as a Radiologic Technologist (ARRT (R)) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  • Current CPR (BLS) certification.
  • ARRT (CT) certification must be obtained within one (1) year of hire if not already possessed.
• Experience: At least one (1) year of experience as an X-ray Technologist.
• Skills:
  • Proven ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment in a demanding clinical setting.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and patient care skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Current ARRT (CT) certification at time of hire.
• Prior experience as a CT Technologist.
• Experience in a hospital or busy outpatient imaging center.
