As we continue to grow, we currently have an opening for a Diesel Truck and Trailer technician off-site at the ABF Truck Shop in Eagan MN. We are looking for someone who is detail oriented, mechanically inclined, able to work independently, and has a strong work ethic. This position handles the complete diagnosis, repair, and general PM maintenance, and troubleshooting on heavy duty diesel. Awarded Star Tribune’s Top Workplaces 7 years in a row. SCHEDULE:

2nd shift, Monday- Friday, 3pm- 12am (plus 10% pay shift differential)

The ideal candidate would have the following skills: Great work ethic Willingness to jump in and help out where needed Mechanical aptitude (prior experience as a technician is a plus, but we willing to train!) Welding experience a plus for trailer technicians Ability to lift 50-100 lbs. occasionally and 10-50 lbs. frequently Clean driving record Good written and verbal communication skills Reliability and a dedication to be a hard worker Ability to work independently maintaining a safe, efficient and friendly work environment Honesty and respect But most importantly, we are looking A Typical Day Might Include: Performs basic routine servicing and repairing of diesel trucks and trailers Diagnose, troubleshoot, disassemble vehicles and examine parts for defects and excessive wear. Corrects vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems, such as, power and drive trains, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, emission, brake, steering, hydraulics; making adjustments and alignments including bearing loads, gear tooth contact, valve mechanisms, governors, oil systems, control linkages, clutches, and traction units. Inspect the overall condition of Trucks and trailers to ensure that they meet U.S. Department of Transportation's safety requirements. Compile inspection reports detailing their findings Track all parts and materials used in repairs or replacements. Ensure the final work product meets quality standards Maintain a safe and clean work area for customers and co-workers Working with customers needs for scheduling repairs.
