Advanced Practice Nurse (Nurse Practitioner)

Job Title
The duties of this position include:
- Conduct and direct collaborative care assessment, diagnosis and management of patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Implement the patient therapeutic care plan, with significant emphasis in the areas of patient/family education, assessment, and support.
- Order and interpret related laboratory and diagnostic tests; prescribe medications; and initiates emergency care.
- Consult and collaborate with physicians and other health care providers regarding patient management including evaluating and revising therapeutic plans and managing high-risk, unstable, or extremely complex patients.
- Evaluate care delivery models and strategies, using concepts related to community, environmental/occupational health, and cultural and socioeconomic dimensions of health.
- Serve as a preceptor to graduate students enrolled in nurse practitioner and physician assistant programs, medical students and to newly assigned nurse practitioners.
